This was fine? I guess? I had just finished two books I loved (Sandwich and The Hunter) so maybe this paled by comparison. It was readable and competent but not moving or exciting in any way.

Damn it Leigh Bardugo, you've done it again. I loved the Six of Crows duology and I was all in on this book. As a Jew, I love a fantasy rooted in Jewish history. Luzia is a wonderful character, the setting is so clear and immersion without much exposition, and the story is compelling and propulsive. At first I didn't love the romance element but I ended up loving the central relationship at the end.
