NOTHING HAPPENS IN THIS BOOK.

As the story progressed, I kept checking to see how many more pages were left because I was waiting for conflict, problems—anything to happen!

It was a very easy read, and can be comforting for those who just want to tune in to watch someone's life exist. Echo is a very nice guy, as is the entire family. Someone recommended this book to me as a "golden retriever" MMC. I can maybe see that, HOWEVER, to me he comes off just very surface level devoted. I don't NOT believe any character is genuinely kind and nice, but literally everyone is kind and nice and polite.

There were a few instances where things could've picked up in excitement and the author could have added the "where's my wife!" trope to show some passion. But nope. Echo is just a calm, level-headed guy who speaks respectfully to everyone in all situations.

Also the way they speak is very strange. Feels kind of textbook-like, as if an alien (haha) read a book about how people speak and tried to emulate dialogue and conversation.

This suffices as a simple, bland storybook easy romance, 1-2 sex scenes (which kind of were not necessary), and great for someone who is traumatized/depressed and wants to feel what they think being surrounded by happy family of loving and kind people feels like.

Maybe I am blessed to be surrounded by people who love and respect me—especially my own husband. So it felt like a whole lot of nothing. Idk. So bored.

No highs or lows. Just a story about two beings getting together. I recommend it to those who are looking for that!
