This book is even BETTER than the first one! Ophelia and her group of friends are now trying to established their roles in positions of power and control over the government. They meet many obstacles in the process while also trying to prepare for war. I have realized one of the big reasons I love this series is because of the rawness of emotions that you get to feel from the characters while reading. You get to experience the happiness, sadness, indecisiveness, worry, love, fear and so much more. Another reason why I was so drawn into this book is because of the supporting characters, while I love Ophelia, her tight-knit group of friends are just as interesting as she is!

This book definitely took a few turns I needed it to take. It was such a good read and again, Nicole is gifted. Her writing is insanely beautiful and poetic. I enjoyed more buildup in this second book of her series. The pace was still slow, but as a Fantasy lover I do love the slower paced books with a lot of detail which is what Nicole delivered.

We dove into the characters a bit more and there was more world building in this one which I also enjoyed.

I easily began to love each character more while learning more about them. I was also able to easily envision the world they live in, where the main characters are from as well as the characters from other territories.

One thing I love most about these books is the unique magic aspects. The amount of creativity it had to have taken to come up with it is impressive.

With the pace these books have been going into book 2 was exactly what it should’ve been and was perfect following The Curse of Ophelia. Not only that but the ending leads very well into the next book which I cannot wait to read.

I love this series so far and cannot wait to dive into book 3.

This book is one of the top books of my year hands down!

5/5 ⭐

THE ANGST, THE BANTER, ALL THE FREAKING FEELS!!!!!!!!

We follow Ophelia's journey after that ending in book 1 and OMG things that needed to happen, as heartbreaking as they were, happened and damn, my heart broke. I cried SO much during this book, and of course in the ending, because TF NICOLE YOU JUST HAD TO STAB ME IN THE HEART RIGHT WITH THAT ENDING!!

I'll never stop recommending this series and shouting about it from the rooftops!! I'm very obsessed with this. Loved the character development, need to know more about EVERYTHING and I'm completely at the mercy of my man, TOLEK VINCENZO. HE IS MY FUTURE HUSBAND AND NO ONE CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE.

Love you all and happy reading

The way I flew through this book…. Omg so good! I love finding little Easter eggs and trying to guess what is going to happen later in the book and I found myself doing just that! I love the changes we saw in this book.
