I enjoyed this book a great deal. I had some predictions that became true but it didn't ruin the story for me. I really liked the poetry and imagery the author presents. Keeping me from 5 stars are some of the prison characteristics that seemed to change based on what was happening in the story. A bit of a back and forth there lacking continuity. Overall a great debut novel for sure. I'll be reading the next book.
