The concept was solid but I felt like there were a decent amount of plot holes or just unfinished scenarios. Obviously there’s a second book, but Takeshi and Khalani’s relationship felt like it developed out of no where. The tension was satisfying, but all of a sudden they’re admitting feelings for each other and I have no idea where it came from.
The plot itself was also giving Fallout, which I’m not mad about cause I love Fallout but I had a hard time picturing the universe that this story was being told in.
I didn’t hate it, but the execution could’ve been better.

2am TikTok book purchase. Was much better than I expected! There was a great dystopian plot line that was very interesting. I enjoyed the romance.

The characters are fun and witty, and the author does a good job at portraying their personalities and demeanor through the book. The concept of the world is good but I do wish there was more detailing into the world building. I did NOT expect the ending at all and am excited to see what happens in book 2!
