I thought this book was just okay. 
The premise for the plot and characters interested me, but overall I felt it wasn't well written. The characters were a little too surface level for me. 
I enjoyed how the story evolved and developed but I wasn't that invested. 
I probably won't continue the series.

Interesting premise and world building. Some beautiful prose and poetry. Resilient characters and just the right amount of brutality for this type of regime. I love, love, love Winnie. Looking forward to the second and having the lingering questions answered.
