I read this book for a leadership course I'm taking and honestly hated it. At the beginning of the book, the author stresses how successful this book is over and over again... If it was so successful, you wouldn't have to dedicate several pages to telling me that it's successful. I also remember the author saying the book was not a war memoir, but I felt that was exactly what I was reading. I could have done with half as much war story and double the practical application stories. It's better to make things realistic and applicable for people's daily lives than try to tell your war stories over and over to let people know you're such a badass... Or whatever. Ultimately, I didn't enjoy this book and wouldn't recommend it. The whole book is right here: take ownership as a leader when things go wrong. Don't blame others; blame yourself.
Very pro military (obviously) that does a good job showing the leadership principles in action. I like the format of combat story - principle - business application. It would be a good book to use for a leadership workshop. I listened to the audiobook narrated by the authors which made it engaging.
This book is largely a lesson in applying common sense to an uncommon degree. Most of the lessons seem legitimate, and the stories from the authors' experience in Iraq (+ later on in their consulting) help to give context to how the lessons should be applied. As with anything, though, these lessons need to be considered in their larger context. This is a book for business leaders who want their business to succeed. For those who want to apply these lessons in their lives, additional reflection on the occasional social and moral costs will be necessary. Overall, a useful book, one that I would recommend, but one that I think readers should not follow blindly (as I'm sure the authors would agree).

Lo leí/escuché como promesa a un buen amigo mío que me insistió mucho en leerlo. Quise dejarlo a la mitad, pero tengo mi promesa de terminar los libros que empiezo.
Es una lectura entretenida e interesante. Los autores son exmilitares SEAL de Estados Unidos que pelearon en la guerra de Iraq, en cada capítulo hay una enseñanza sobre liderazgo, primero es una historia real de la guerra con un planteamiento, desarrollo, nudo y conclusión, y explican como aplicando el concepto índice del capítulo es que pudieron salir adelante, luego viene un "ejemplo" en el mundo de los negocios, que a veces se leía medio inventado, y de como al aplicar las enseñanzas del campo de batalla, podrías también triunfar en los negocios.
Me gustaron las historias, el conocer detalles de los soldados en la guerra, fue interesante, el contenido del libro creo que está muy bien estructurado, y que le podría gustar muchísimo a gerentes, directores y gente en altos puestos de mando. Yo en lo personal no disfruté mucho la lectura, a lo mejor porque no tenía ganas de leer tips sobre liderazgo empresarial. Quizás si en algún futuro tengo algún puesto directivo o jefatura lo volvería a leer/escuchar.

A must read for everyone, especially these in charge of other people
I enjoyed the leadership principles in the first half of the book. A narrative became somewhat repetitive in the second section of the book. DNF the last few chapters. The conclusion chapter summarized it nicely.
