It took me over 3 years to finish this book. While I can admire the value of the principles talked about in this book, the authors sorely lack the ability to concisely explain concepts. I felt that much of the content of this book was superfluous and that the authors recirculated the same statements over and over again to make a singular point.

#DNF I must say I got through the first chapter that was a lot of militaristic dramatic chest thumping as an audiobooks and then I just gave up. I could not.take.one.more.word

I particularly liked this quote ”When leaders who epitomize Extreme Ownership drive their teams to achieve a higher standard of performance, they must recognize that when it comes to standards, as a leader, it’s not what you preach, it’s what you tolerate.”
That is so true - in leadership in organisations and as teachers / parents.
But I couldn't plough through all that extreme testosterone just to get that one nugget out.

Me voy a tomar la libertad de escribir esto en español para reforzar el punto que quiero hacer: la cantidad de racismo, xenofobia y mensaje de odio que hay a lo largo de este libro fue realmente muy negativo. Entiendo que hay que tomar las cosas de donde viene, y estamos hablando de dos personas militares de elite, los mejores en sus trabajos y con ello vendrán aparejadas sus ideologías, y que son dos naciones/culturas en duro conflicto hace tiempo. Pero en ningún momento de todo el libro se trata de hacer un mensaje distinto al de "bajamos 100, que divertido, la pasamos genial, somos unos capos". Y en contraparte cada vez que se habla de la pérdida de un compañero, se hace desde una solemnidad y tristeza entendible, pero desmesurada al tono que se tiene con las personas contrarias.
El resto del contenido del libro está bastante bien. El formato utilizado de "historia/conecpto/aplicación" hace fácil la lectura y compresión de lo que tratan de transmitir acerca de liderazgo. Hay algunos capítulos donde el concepto no es muy interesante, o donde la historia relacionada en realidad es relleno y no se encuentra la relación.
Pocas negativas reales, pero desde lo ideológico, no me parece un libro recomendable. 3/5
