We read this as a professional development book for my school. While I did learn from it, after a while it became very formulaic.
The basic premise of the book is to own it and take responsibility when things go wrong, even if it isn't your fault.

To be blunt, I find the Iraq war discussions painful and unpleasant, but the leadership lessons presented are really powerful and make the book overall impactful and worth it for me.

I absolutely loved this book! So many of their idea can and should be applied to our personal lives as well that my only critique is that they could have spent some time going into that a little more. I think a little more ownership at any company could go a long way. I work in Human Resources and so often employees come to us to solve problems with another employee. The thing I often tell them is there is something they can both do to improve the situation!

Had this as “Required reading” for a fire crew. The principle of extreme ownership is sound. The writing leaves a lot to be desired.
I skipped all the pro US military nonsense. The book is clear and conscice with actionable advice.
I made notes on their suggestions and will attempt to apply some off it to my real life. Overall, pretty good.
