As someone who's watched Gigi's videos for years and has followed her whole transition, this book was a fascinating, in-depth look at her life beyond YouTube. I give her credit here - she does not hold back. I also loved the glamour shots that accompanied each chapter. Very Gigi. Can't wait for her self-narrated audiobook!

"He Said, She Said: Lessons, Stories, and Mistakes from My Transgender Journey" by Gigi Gorgeous is a candid and insightful exploration of the author's personal experiences. Gigi's storytelling is engaging, offering a valuable perspective on the challenges and triumphs of a transgender journey. The book is a mix of lessons, anecdotes, and reflections, providing both educational and heartfelt moments. While some sections felt slightly uneven, the overall narrative is an important contribution to transgender literature, offering understanding and empathy to readers who may be navigating similar paths.

I don’t know Gigi except for the fact that she did an audible original in which they direct you to her own audiobook if you’re interested.
And interested I was.
But this seemed more like a P.S. to her fans , rather than it being meant for everyone.
Also good for her for having a supportive family and I’m glad she acknowledges when she screwed up and maybe this book was a way to acknowledge all of that because at the moment she didn’t.
I wished it was more insightful and funny because the original audio that started all of this for me ; she was quite funny. But this book was just there.

This book I enjoyed, I think Gigi told her story in the best way of her. And while it took a while to get into the writing style a little bit I liked it.
That being said I feel like the flow wasn’t the best? I suppose it was written how Gigi would tell her story times in that some stories had detail and others didn’t or there would be gaps.
I suppose that comes from wanting to share your life but leaving some bits out or glossing over bits that don’t need much attention. But it left me having some more questions about her life...

And I don’t even know if it’s a gender thing. Honestly, I feel as if it’s just meeting the right person. At the end of the day, it’s all about the connection.

I've followed Gigi since her Gregory Gorgeous days, and I was looking forward to this book. It's a memoir about being trans and a lesbian without being a memoir that follows the LGBT memoir script. Much like any Gigi story, this is a little hard to follow and nonlinear but rewarding.
