It’s a classic book-I had never read it. When reading it, considering when it was originally written was a powerful reminder. I probably won’t ever read it again, but I appreciate it and the role it played in helping people be seen.

A classic for sure. Never boring -- each chapter is like its own story. Characters feel so real, it is like eavesdropping on their conversations. The ending fit well.

Amazing story about the intersection of growing in poverty, being a women and lesbian. Also great story of how staying true to yourself is an amazing luxury and something to fight for. Also full of interesting characters.

Heel interessant om te zien hoe de maatschappij is veranderd maar ook is blijven stilstaan in het denken van ‘hokjes’. Feminisme was in de jaren 60 enorm nodig en de dag van vandaag moeten vrouwen blijven opkomen voor het ‘vrouw zijn’. Echt een aanrader, verhaal met veel betekenis.
