In high school, this book was my litmus test. If I liked a girl at school and she mentioned that she had read this book, I knew that she probably wasn't just another straight girl. If I was reading this book in public and someone saw it and smiled at me, it was like we had a secret understanding. This isn't exactly great literature, but I read it during a time when I was devouring any and all queer books I could find in the library, so it was important to me during quite a formative time.

Except from that little weird part about incest, this book was so beautiful. Had me in tears by the end.

Tätä oli niin hauska lukea, että tekisi mieli aloittaa heti uudestaan. Päähenkilö Molly on vähän karikatyyri ja paikoin juonenkäänteet on aika epäuskottavia, mutta se ei haittaa, koska tää on tarina!!! (Ja voihan ajatella niin, että Molly on epäluotettava kertoja ja haluaa kertoa tarinan, jossa lesbot eivät saa turpaan joka sivulla, vaikkei välttämättä kaikki olisi tapahtunut juuri sillä tavalla.) A stunning novel. I felt all possible emotions, and Brown's words make you feel like you're at a gallery at times, watching everything wash over you.
