This dark, captive/captor romance is so dark, disturbed and disgusting... I loved it! Please please please check the content warning before going into this one. My heart kept breaking for Alex and Ophelia.

OK, this was dark. “Haunting Adaline” pales in comparison to this book, in my opinion. If you are scared to start “Haunting Adaline” because of how dark it is or had to take a break from it or similar books, this book is not going to be for you.
I almost almost can’t even process into words my thoughts about this book. I wouldn’t say it’s an extremely spicy book in the sense of it not being fully consensual for the first 90% of the book. There are obviously explicit scenes, but I cannot rate those the same way I would rate a dark romance that is consensual. Personally when I think of a spicy rating, it would be spice in terms of what would make people blush or be surprised in a good way while reading, not just how many scenes or the way the scenes are written. .5
