So the message of this book is clear and simple: live every day like it’s your last. I’m a big fan of Adam Silvera, and this book is no different. I KNEW exactly what I was getting myself into, but it still hit me hard. I could go on and on about how beautiful this book is, but what really got me was how unexpected it was. It reminds me a lot of The Sun is also a Star by Nicola Yoon, specifically her use of multiple points of view that at the time seem pointless or irrelevant but all eventually come together and just make sense. This book is about loss and love and hope and friendship and family and most importantly, life. 5/5 would definitely recommend

-The characters feel flat, not relatable and likeable
-There are multiple pov's from ppl who are not relevant to the story
-The storyline of their last 24 hour is random and illogical
-the concept can be interesting, but it's too depressing and negative for me

Sehr interessant geschrieben - der Anfang hat sich für mich persönlich zu sehr gezogen aber die Charaktere haben sich extrem schön während der Geschichte entwickelt

This book really surprised me in how gently it managed to deliver such a beautiful tale that’s heartfelt and important. It was speculative fiction with clever world-building but it was also so raw in its emotional matter-of-fact plot. Ultimately, the book doesn’t try to deus ex macchina - it gives you exactly what you asked for and I really appreciated a story that puts the journey before the destination.

I thought the concept was really cool and I expected a heartfelt story. I guess the story was realistic (they only had a day) but I would have liked some wonder, something profound - a message or reminder to live everyday like it’s the last. For me, this just didn’t work. Everyone was just wary and waiting for death to claim Mateo & Rufus while others like Peck tries yielding it like a weapon, thinking they are capable of dealing death’s blow since Rufus was already “doomed” anyway.
Perhaps it was my own expectations but I felt like I didn’t get what I came here for.

it was a beautiful story and fuck it was sad. two people finding and loving each other on the day they die is quite romantic tbh. 💔
