Oh Good Grief. There are books that sometimes remind you that there are reasons why authors moved away from mannered, country house thrillers. This is one such book.

This book generally isn't bad,, but it does live up to the stereotypes of a Christie novel. Rich people are in it near a country house (this time owned by Ackroyd, a wealthy industrialist). Scripts dies. So whodunit? Well Hercules Poirot is invited in to find out. On the way, he unearths truths until we can only believe there is one suspect left.

I usually like murder mysteries, but I found this one too formulaic. Anyone with experience of the genre could have Twitter who the murderer way because Christie sticks so determindly. If you're willing to accept that, you'll probably get more out of the book that I did.
