I love the entire Ember Falls series, and Against All Odds did not disappoint. Despite the MANY obstacles in the way of our two main characters, including their own insecurities, they both fight like crazy to work their way back to each other for good.
Everett is quite possibly the sweetest and most understanding MMC I have read recently. (Although that mouth in the bedroom, phew.) He always knew what he'd once lost and there was no way he was letting that happen again. Violet had A LOT of inner work to do and I think her growth process was pretty well written.
The entire story is very emotional and heartfelt. Plenty of spice but nothing overly kinky. Analeigh definitely carried the comedic relief for the entire book. Can't wait to see what happens in the next part of the series.

Another great addition to the Ember Falls series! I have loved every book in this series so far and this was no exception! This is a world that I could stay in forever! I loved it so much! I was hooked immediately and couldn’t put it down! Having the audio was pretty handy so I wouldn’t have to! The narrators were fantastic! This was a duet narration so it really was like watching a movie in my mind! A movie that I never wanted to end! The narrators brought so much life to all the characters. Selfishly I wanted more!! I will be over here trying to be patient for the next book!!! Make sure to check out this definite must read! Especially if you love small town, second chance, neighbors to lovers romance!

I’m absolutely in love with Corinne Michaels’ Ember Falls series—it just keeps getting better! Against All Odds (Book 3) is Everett and Violet’s emotional second-chance romance. It hits so many favorite tropes: right love, wrong time; second chances; and all the feels. Everett is pure perfection—kind, handsome, and big-hearted. Against All Odds is a small town, second chance romance and the 3rd book in the Ember Falls series. This is Everett and Violet 's emotional tale and I loved it.
As high school sweethearts who ended up going their separate ways, these two are reunited when Violet returns to Ember Falls to rebuild her life amidst divorce.
Everett, never forgot Violet, and had no intention of letting her get away a second time. He was patient, caring and protective, and did every thing he could to win her back. I loved their banter and their journey of falling back in love. This was a wonderful read and I would definitely recommend it to romance lovers.

Andi Arndt and Robert Hatchet did a wonderful job narrating this novel. Their voices were clear and understandable and they conveyed all the emotion. They brought the story to life and kept me fully engrossed in the novel.

An intriguing and heartbreaking start to this story was enough to make your heart break and just hope that a better way was coming as it was very hard to bare. The emotions were truly heartfelt and at times I really wished I could hug the female lead character, Violet, as I understood where she was coming from. I truly hoped for that happy ending. Even though there were a lot of heartfelt moments between the lead characters, Everett & Violet, there was also hope that was simmering through. Definitely an emotional rollercoaster but one that's worth the while.
When Violet's world is falling apart, she goes back home to Ember Falls trying to find her footing again after a devastating heartbreak. Hoping to pick up the pieces and move on with her life, she's looking forward to her new job. She never thought she would see Everett again but a lot has changed over the years since they last saw each other. When Everett sees Violet again, it's not quite as he expected but it seems that there's still something lingering between them. After everything that they went through, he knows that she's still dealing with a lot in her life but he can't help but be drawn to her again. Even though Violet tries to keep her distance, there's a pull between her and Everett but life throws them a curveball they didn't see coming. Will everything work out in the end and will they have a second chance at love?...

First, I am not a big fan of second chance BUT I am a fan of childhood sweethearts. And the combination of both is what made me love this story.
The connection between Violet and Everett is real, beautiful and only grew more as the story progressed.
Violet finding out she's pregnant and everything that happens after was a rollercoaster of emotions. But my gosh Everett, the man you are!!! I loved them together.
It is a lovely audiobook. The duet narration is great and so fun especially during the many banter between Violet and Everett.

Another great book from Corinne! This was a great second chance romance with a sprinkle of not his baby, and it was amazing from the start. I will never not go feral for both second chance romance and not his baby, so I was foaming at the mouth for this book. Violet had a lot of trauma to work through during this story, and there were times when she pushed Everett away, but she was only doing what she had to do to protect her heart. I admired her willingness to work on herself in this story so that she could be the best version of herself. It was hard for her to experience everything she did, but I love that she never truly let it get her down and that she fought for herself and her wants in this book. Everett was always the sarcastic friend who hid behind some walls, but once Violet came back into his life, all bets were off! He resisted at first because he had his heart broken the first time Violet left Ember Falls, but his mother made sure to set him straight and help him see that he needed to go for it because you only have one chance to live. After that, he fought hard for Violet and showed her how much he wanted all of her. Everett wasn’t afraid to tell and show Violet what she meant to him, and I loved seeing him break down her walls piece by piece. This was an amazing story about a second chance at love and fighting for love even after years apart. Violet and Everett’s story was amazing, and I can’t wait to see what happens next in Ember Falls!

Corinne Michaels does an amazing job writing second chance romances! Everett & Violet were childhood sweethearts and have messy history! She left and now she is back in Ember Falls after finding out she was cheated on and needed to be back in her home town. She was scared to run into Everett and face him after all of these years. However, Everett will do everything in his power to get back the love of his life and never let her go!
