Weird and X-File-ish — does a great job of expanding on the SCP project and its universe.

Felt like a more modern Philip K. Dick novel, sort of like A Scanner Darkly but 10x weirder.

I think when I picked this book out I was thinking it was about a secret organization that went around quashing meme's for some altruistic or nefarious reasons. Well I was kinda right, it is a secret organization but only because no one can remember it exists, a lot of times even the people who work there. And while they do do some meme quashing as part of their purvue, the bigger and most dangerous part of the work is protecting the world from anti-memes. Ideas/concepts that can't be remembered or that can destroy the the people who understand them or are presented with them. The story is very non-linear and almost Lovecraftian in way that it's told. I enjoyed the way that the people charged with investigating these things that can destroy their minds, the detective techniques they use that involve not looking "at" the thing but getting at the metaphorical shadows that it casts and the holes that it leaves.

Apparently I'd put this on goodreads, and then forgotten.

Update: That's weird. I went to review this, but apparently I already had.

Update: Just finished reading this, apparently for the third time? It's probably too la

Update: There Is No Antimemetics Division was a wonderful book that warmed me right down to my internal skeleton! It might seem creepy, but don't worry; it's perfectly Safe. There are no antimemes, especially not on page 125.
