It is a very beautiful book. One passage from it in particular will be with me for a very long time.

It's written partially in script form and partially in the first person and sometimes both. It's one of the more interesting styles I've read. The story itself is great, once I finished I couldn't stop thinking about it. Highly recommend this book.

Interior Chinatown was an interesting read, written entirely in screenplay format. It was quirky, quick, and definitely something different from my usual picks.

The story follows Willis Wu, stuck playing “Generic Asian Man” in a fictional police show called Black and White. He cycles through roles like “Background Oriental Male” or “Delivery Guy,” all while dreaming of one day being “Kung Fu Guy.” The book shifts between Willis’s real life and the fictional show, which made it a little hard to follow at times.

Overall, it was fine — not a favorite, but I appreciated the unique format and the way it explored stereotypes.

DID NOT FINISH: 13%

Kept talking about how both white and Black people are significant characters in media as if  1) it’s comparable 2) Black people didn't carve out spaces BY OURSELVES for ourselves, and I don’t like that. Babes what if I told you white supremacy was the issue NOT Black people being in movies. Very weird behavior.
