~ Audiobook Review ~
Courtney Walsh is a new author to me, I really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading more of her in the future.

Lane is living life to prove that her past doesn’t define her. Those in the city say Lane is living the best life, but back in her small home town many believe she is missing life while her nose is stuck in her phone.

Series: This is book 1 in a series of books set in the small tourist town of Harbor Pointe.

Content: The Christian content was minimal but sprinkled through. I would have preferred less kissing. Overall I liked the content things like the effects childhood bullying or an abusive father can have on a persons self image. I also liked the look at the effects of stress that the culture today praises but the negative effect it can have on our bodies.

Audio Performance: 8/10
Matilda was a very fast reader. She gave a fully voiced performance (meaning every character had a distinct voice) it was enjoyable and easy to listen to.

“No one should be available 24-7. It’s not healthy.”

So Lane Kelley is reminded as she attempts to work from her hometown, where she has returned in less-than-ideal circumstances. Fighting the demons of her past and layers of emotions when it comes to dealing with her family, Lane also must defend her need to work as she nears a promotion within the interior design company she works for. In walks Ryan Brooks, who slowly chips away at the walls Lane has built around herself.
In this age of total connectivity, this book managed to tuck a meaty message inside the folds of a sweet small town romance. It was one that surprised me with just how much I enjoyed it. Recommend for fans of Christian romance, family drama, and stories of redemption. Looking forward to reading the next installment in this series, Just Let Go!

Courtney does such an amazing job crafting a heartwarming story yet not entirely predictable. I’m looking forward to the remaining books in this series.

Prachtig verhaal.

Just Look Up deals with tough, emotional issues in a very real, yet sensitive way. The characters are well-written and it was easy for me to get invested in their lives. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Just look up!... except I couldn't because this book kept me glued to my screen reading. It's that good. I'm sorry it's over and I have to look up and get back to reality.

Sometimes I'm afraid that if I keep reading books by the same author, I'm going to stumble onto one I don't care for. So far, so good with Courtney Walsh, and her newest release, Just Look Up, is a soul-satisfying read.

Featuring two characters with childhood baggage, Just Look Up illustrates how isolating the pain of rejection can be and how persistent love can lead to healing. Lane and Ryan are likable and adorable childhood friends who haven't seen each other in a while. A family emergency brings them back in contact, and their emotional wounds threaten to keep them apart.

It's page-turning and far from predictable. (Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the book from the publisher. Opinion reflected in this review is my honest one.) Courtney is one of my favorite writers because she includes the right amount of detail: enough to paint a picture but not too much to stall the story. Her settings feel like real places and the situations her characters face are never easy and always relatable.

Any book by Courtney should be on your to-read list. Add this one to your summer reading plans this year. It'll make you squirm a little, crave belonging, and sigh with satisfaction.
