To this day, one of my favorite innocent love stories.

This book was a delightful read! I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a nice surprise. An interesting view from America during the war. I was shocked since I had never known at that time that we Americans put American Japanese in camps. It was a nice story with some very interesting historical facts. Would definitely recommend!!!

For some reason, it took me a while to get through, but I think it was because I kept picking it up and not being in the right "mood" required to read this book. After months of sifting through the first 100 pages, I breezed through the rest of it in 1.5 days and was so glad I finished it. It was sugary-sweet, to say the least, but the author's note at the end gives a good reason for why he wrote it the way that he did. Definitely worth a pick-up.

Couldn't finish it!

Not the proudest era in American History. The premise gets 5 stars, but the writing could have been more exciting. A very sweet book, nonetheless. I would recommend it, especially to anyone unfamiliar with Japanese internment camps. Anyone from here in Utah should look deeper and learn about the camp at Topaz.

So many people complained about the inaccuracies of 1986, however, I did not find these issues to be plaguing or to detract from the overall story at all. Sure, Jamie's editor probably should have caught the fact that the Internet didn't exist in 1986. However, the story of Henry and Henry's friend Keiko in Seattle in World War 2 was a fantastic story of friendship. It's one of the most satisfying books I've read recently. Ignore the small stuff and get sucked into the story.
