Spoiler: they’re gay.
Homonormativity abound, but what else can you expect from a children’s book that is just trying to balance the tide of homophobia in the world.
It’s exactly the classic fairytale story you’re familiar with, except the only thing about it is they’re gay *insert gif here*

I love it and I bought it and imma read it to children to help complete the gay agenda of child indoctrination.

This book is perfect for a rainbow storytime or a fantasy story time. Would be great paired with a Star for Zog and the Twelve Dancing Princesses by Rachel Isadora. The pictures are reminiscent of Sleeping Beauty era Disney and the story is just like any fantasy prince story. It is sweet and the illustrations actually show the main characters being affectionate with each other.

Now we just need to move beyond representation and have people fall in love who aren't the most attractive people who basically fall in love at first sight. It is OK for this book because it is a gay take on a love at first sight princess story, but it would be nice to have a bit more.
