very sweet fairy tale-- some of the prose is a little clumsy, but the message is great.

I love the cute art style of this picture book and the story is ADORABLE <3 We need more gay children's books like this - I love them so much!! Sad that this was on my banned book list because I think children and adults alike would love this art style and short, very wholesome tale of a prince and knight falling in love.
Also love that the story rhymes like those are some very sweet bars Daniel Haack wrote <3

I love this book because it is an unconventional fairytale that needs to exist in this world. It is about a young prince who is trying to find the love of his life. (It is also possibly on a list of books that people will try to ban from being in public libraries.) Bottom line: Love is love.
lighthearted medium-paced

A very charming book about a prince who finds his true love. The story is very sweet and the show of acceptance is very heartwarming.

Cute fairy tale romance, but the rhythm to its rhyme felt way off.

Cute and easy to read for young ones who are desiring fairy tales but also what to see a reflection of their families on the page.
Very much enjoyed it

Prince & Knight are adorable and the illustrations are beautiful.

It’s a cute story about how the prince can’t find anyone until he finds the knight. It’s a love story that’s also gay. The illustrations are beautiful. Also, the story was easy to read because it rhymed but was also kept “short and simple”. I would recommend to those willing to read LGBTQ+ books.

A romance featuring a male prince and male knight who fall in love.  I like how the same-sex romance is treated as a non-issue--the parents are pleased that their son the prince has finally found someone who makes him happy.  However, the book isn't perfect.  The parade of women the prince rejects before finding his true love are all bland representations of the girly princess archetype.  It's still a nice story and I would recommend reading it.  I enjoyed the illustrations too--I just wish the portrayal of women was less cliche since the book has done such a great job of subverting the fairy tale format in other ways.
