P.S. At first, I was underwhelmed by how the couple met but now that I look back at how approachable it was, I commend this story. This is a step forward in terms of gay representations in picture books. The delivery is like a warm embrace that I simply did not want to part from.
My very first Banned Books Week book for 2020! I was instantly in love with this book when I started reading the blurb, and I can tell you my love only grew as I read the book. It is an adorable tale about a prince who needs to marry because he just cannot manage the wide lands on his own and how he and his parents seek around for the one. But as you can see the one isn't a princess. It is a very swoony and strong knight! How they meet, I loved that, and I just loved the love between these two when they truly met. It just oozed out of this book.
I love love love how everyone was accepting. The people in his country, his parents. They were all just so happy for the prince and the knight and I almost cried because of that, because that doesn't always happen so this is just YAS!.
The art was really great and I loved the style.
All in all, a book I would highly recommend.

I don't have much to say about this book because it speaks for itself. Beautifully written, beautifully illustrated, and it rhymes! Would definitely be great for a storytime or bedtime read, it was so cute it made my heart melt!

I thought this book was beautiful both in story and in the wonderful illustrations throughout. This is the kind of story I wish I'd had growing up, and it makes me happy to see such a story in print. For young children to be able to read and experience such a tale that is both entertaining and educational gives me hope for the future.
