OMG! Hutton Everest is... WOW! I love S.L. Scott's latest! Bad Reputation was fresh and fun.

"You're the fairy-tale ending I wish I could have."

Anyone that follows my blog won’t be surprised that I am reviewing a book for S.L. Scott—because I just love her books and her brand of romance. She skillfully weaves stories that are fun to get lost in and sexy, which is a perfect combination for this avid reader. When she told readers that the next book about an Everest brother was coming, I immediately volunteered my blog to review it—without a clue what the story was going to be about—but I have yet to be disappointed in a book that S.L. Scott has written. And to be perfectly clear, that still holds true because I loved Bad Reputation! S.L. Scott delivered a billionaire, bad girl romance with a side of royal intrigue that made things extra interesting and truly made for the perfect way to get lost in a book for the night.

"…then you tell me we can't be together like I can walk away unscathed. Like I can somehow forget that this fire between us hasn't burned my soul to ashes already."

I loved the modern fairy tale vibe this book delivers. It’s the perfect combination of S.L. Scott sexy, sweet, and feel good with that added princess and prince charming bonus! And let’s be real, everyone needs an Everest brother in their life. Everyone. That’s the conclusion I’ve come to after reading S.L. Scott’s latest Bad Reputation. I want an Everest. Last year, I feel hard for Ethan Everest when S.L. Scott released Everest. And I will be honest, I wasn’t sure that I would love Hutton the way I did Ethan when she announced to readers that his books was next. I mean, I had to read it of course, but Everest was… well, Everest! And while I absolutely loved Bad Reputation, my love for Ethan still holds true. Fictional character or not, I can’t help but have a favorite and truthfully, I doubt anyone can top Everest in my book. But for most, I think Hutton is the Prince Charming that you’re waiting for. He’s delicious, devoted, loyal and once he sets his sights on Ally, nothing was going to detour him from his ultimate goal… HEA with his very own Princess. Tell me that isn’t a hero after your own heart?! If you can resist an Everest, you’re far stronger than the majority of us!

“I'm not leaving anything to chance because we may have been fate, but it's up to us to create our destiny.”

If you are a fan of seXXXy romance—you know, the type where sexxxy is spelled with a triple X and you need new panties or a cold shower before the book is over? You can’t go wrong grabbing anything S.L. Scott writes. As with everything I have read before, I found Bad Reputation to be an excellent read with fantastic supporting characters, a decent dose of angst, a bit of humor and a lot of heart. The dual POV allowed me to get invested in the story and really get to know the characters. Ally was a fun heroine who was split between duty and desire—the secretly spunky bad girl who wants the kingdom and the chance to make her country a better place in the future. Hutton was the perfect counterpoint and taught Ally that it was good to have someone to be bad with. I loved this latest work by S.L. Scott and if you’re in the mood for a second chance romance, you can’t go wrong with Bad Reputation!

Cute but the end felt a little rushed.

Not counting regency or historical romance, this is my first "royalty" romance read. And what a great introduction to the contemporary "royalty" romance trope. From the moment we meet Hutton Everest and through his eyes meet Ally Edwards, we know a very important connection has been made. Following this incredible "meet-cute", Hutton and Ally continue to build a no-strings attachment, that is until it isn't. No strings that is. Entangled in emotions that neither expected to feel, real life becomes a major barrier.

Together and a part, these two are fabulous and oh so perfect for each other. What I love is that while it may seem, we may assume that it's Hutton that is the rebel, the one with a bad reputation, Ally has had her share of scandals. Deserved or not, Ally pushes the envelope and suffers the consequences. But these two really do share fundamental characteristics. When Hutton describes Ally "She’s a free spirit with a kind heart. Playful. Clever. Vivacious. Gentle. Quiet. Introspective. She’s every color of the rainbow and a myriad of emotions in the span of a few hours, tenderhearted before me now.", all I could think was, wow, this man is the ultimate romantic. I found myself falling for him early one and his treatment of Ally is so genuine and sincere. But the thing is, as we watch him with Ally it's all too apparent this is also who he is.

In Bad Reputation, Scott gives us a fun and sexy read driven by the drama inherent in Ally's life. There are plenty of villains to create strife but the story is perfectly balanced and the dialogue serves to show us who the characters are, both main and secondary. I was very happy with the ups and downs as at times I feared the worst, but Scott guides us through these moments to give Hutton and Ally the royal HEA they deserve.

Meh. Audible, Sebastian York and Ava Erickson. It was like Scott wanted to write a fairytale with a strong female lead, but she failed hitting the sweet spot. This ‘queen’ was a joke and a doormat to her family. Not in love with the Everest clan.

A second-chance romance AND a royal love story?! I must have snuck onto Santa's nice list by the skin of my teeth--any rumors about my naughtiness are exaggerated...or maybe not...depends on the rumors--because dear Mr. Claus seems to have an elf in the form of bestselling author S.L. Scott and I have reaped the rewards via her latest release, Bad Reputation. This had everything I could have wished for and I'm glad Santa (and S.L. Scott) were listening! This also happens to be standalone (although it's also a spin-off of sorts since Hutton Everest--quick FYI: the original title for this was supposed to be Hutton!--is the brother of Ethan Everest, whose own book is Everest), so yay for those of you out there who currently don't have the time to jump into a series or dislike evil cliffhangers.

Hutton and Ally's story isn't your typical royal romance slash love story about second chances, and I love when and author is able to add unique enough touches to their tale, allowing it stand apart from a crowded field. Another thing I adored about this book was that it wasn't anything like Ethan Everest and Singer Davis's story, which was one I was quite enamored when it was released exactly a year ago today. Hutton and Ally faced a set of extraordinary circumstances, but then what else would you expect from an extraordinary love story like theirs? Bad Reputation easily snags five stars; now I can't wait to see who among the side characters gets their turn next! ♥

A modern Day fairytale with a twist. Going in I knew this book was going to be special. As soon as Hutton met Ally in the bar I knew that theirs was a connection made in the stars. The author did an exceptional job creating a new and improved version of how royalty works and one that I am all about supporting. She manages to weave a story with banter, and sincerity, and a whole lot of Southern Charm. I loved Hutton's brother Everest but Hutton has him beat in this book.

I loved everything about Hutton and his connection with his Princess. Even though the connection was there from the very start this was not an instant-love romance. Time was put into this relationship and I appreciated that. Aly was a princess with a gypsy soul. I am not sure if anything could truly have tamed her zest for life other than Hutton and it is that reason that further recertified why they were true soulmates.

This story shows that Happily ever after comes in a plethora of ways and that love ultimately triumphs...especially if it comes in the form of a strong stubborn Texan man not willing to lose his princess.

"This time, I'm not leaving anything to chance because we may have been fate, but it's up to us to create our destiny."

I'm so sorry I didn't love this book more. I know it deserves a lot more love but tbh it just didn't get to me like I expected. After loving Ethan's book so much I had high expectations for Hutton's book. However, that's the thing with expectations, sometimes it's hard to meet them.

"You're the fairy-tale ending I wish I could have."

Nevertheless I enjoyed reading this fairy-tale lovestory. Hutton is as selfless as his older brother, and if an Everest brother falls in love he falls fast, deep and endless. And with Ally he found his match. She challenges and completes him at the same time.

"If our relationship is doomed to go up in flames, we might as well be the ones who start the fire."

Ally is a lovely heroine. Her soul is split between her upbringing and what she's supposed to believe and live by and between who she really is and wants to be. Falling in love with Hutton only made the battle between these opposites worse. But he stands by her side and together they fight against those obstacles with ease.

"Hutton Everest is a bright knight in my dark nights."

What I didn't like about the book was that everything seemed to go too smooth. I missed something that was really gripping me. And the end felt rushed to me, I wish there were some more explaining of how things ended up and why.

I don't know what it was that made me feel a little distant towards Ally and Hutton even though they are both very charismatic and lovable. I guess it's just me. So please, if you want to meet both and the blurb intrigues you, don't hold back and give Hutton and Ally a chance.

"The broken pieces of my spirit are collected in his embracing love, and my soul feels right again."

Bad Raputation is a lovely modern fairy-tale where the princess found her prince charming, learning that being bad together only makes the world brighter, more interesting and definitely hot as hell.
