I love this story. It was so cute and fun. I love a rivals to lovers story. I felt as invested in them figuring out the mystery as I did about their relationship. They also were not so in love they forgot about the mystery they wanted to solve. Very cute and sweet.

I loved this romance with a healthy dash of mystery! Rival journalists Nadine and Wes team up to interview the reclusive author Dot Volene, who dies before they can finish their interview. Her heir gives them 30 days to look through her enormous, cluttered house for clues to the mystery she’s hinted at in their interview, and of course when you have rivals trapped together in a house with only cats to keep each other company, you know they’re going to fall in love. Loved the way they dealt with all their own baggage, like Nadine coming to terms with a different sort of career path for herself, and Wes finally standing up to his toxic mother — the growth arcs were huge. And there was so much delightful banter that made me laugh out loud. Excited to read/listen to a bunch more Lily Chu books!

3.5 stars! was a cute lil spooky read for halloweekend vibes!

This was a decent read. It took me a while to get into the audiobook, but I was interested in the mystery that the rival journalists were trying to uncover.
