I thought this would be more about books and less about writing.

Super fun tongue-in-cheek comics about writing and writers. Any bibliophile will enjoy!

Meh, I guess I expected a lot more when getting into this however it wasn't really funny or anything which was disappointing

Very cutesy cartoons about reading, writing and book loving - did I mention cute? Well, while I'm sure this will sell well as postcards, coasters and fridge magnets at the till in chain bookstores around the world, it is just a bit too toothless for me. The edgiest thing in this book is in the title, and I do prefer my writer's block whining but an extra dose of sarcasm! After the first 50 pages it started to feel like being trapped in a greeting card - while it might be a joke, drawing Fahrenheit 451 as 'moving a lawn in a heatwave' and Lord of the Flies as a canoe trip with insect, I find it crippling and kind of an insult to the books. A while in I did consider drawing in extra boxes in the Murakami Bingo plate (definitely missing 'description of the size and shape of (dressed) female character's boobs' amongst others), but I figured the cosier inclined next reader of the library's book wouldn't appreciate it.
I'm guessing this is the cartoon equivalent of bookstore-cute-novels like [b:The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry|18293427|The Storied Life of A.J. Any book lover and writer will enjoy this quick cute book. Plus it will look great on your bookshelf.

Tasteful and funny comics about reading, readers, writing etc.
Some of them didn't really get to me, that's why I only rated with three stars.
