There's just something so ... so very beautiful about when communist Cuba solves the world's zombie war expressly because and while it's a communist country, and then as a result of that success, elects to turn its back on communism. Anyway, the two lessons of this book are that Americans are made of different stuff to people of other nationalities, and that the way to solve regional and global conflict is by introducing zombies to the problem.

I found the interview format hard to follow but really liked the wide range of characters from all over the world. Felt like world war z not 'american' war z.

hit really hard after covid lol???

At what point does a documentary become too long? 2 hours? More? Less? For a book written in the style of a documentary, 420 pages is too long in my opinion. The number of interviews (more accurately recollections as the "interviewer" rarely asks questions) is too high and as a result, no characters ever really form. There are a number of outstanding interviews where as a reader you can appreciate the potential that this book had but sadly these are in the minority. With a link to the entertainment industry (Brooks' father is Mel Brooks), this "documentary" is better suited to film and not suprisingly is soon to be made into one. The End.

An interesting narrative perspective looking back on a zombie outbreak that has since been contained. For fans of zombie things in general looking for something fresh or those looking for more out the genre.
