An interesting story of man vs nature and how easy it is to become overwhelmed by its power. Even the most season outdoorsman can’t prepare for everything. The story offers little explanation for the horror elements and ends rather abruptly. Characters are kinda flat but the prose and the strange occurrences keep you invested the whole way. Apparently this book was inspiring to HP love craft and I can see why.

This is the most atmospheric piece of writing I've ever found. It's not spooky season without it. I've had some river/ camping trips just like this!!!!
