I was in the Burnside Powell's eavesdropping on a horror genre panel and one of the speakers mentioned this book and recommended it to the audience so I ordered it. It's a physically short read (~40 pages maybe?) but every page is stewing in suspense and completely driven by the imagery of the environment and its impact on the travelers' psyches. The story follows two travelers but as the title suggests, the willows are the main character here. Easily one of the most uneasy stories I've read.
