Sarina's books have quickly become my go-to reads and my comfort reads. I've been quite happy with every single one that I've read. And I absolutely love the audiobooks and it was no different with The Best Men.
This was actually my first time reading something by Lauren Blakely and I'm different intrigued to try something else by them. They make a great writing duo and I'm sure we'll see these to partnering up again.
The Best Men checked all the boxes for me, lighthearted, bits of laughs here and there, and alll the firsts! I really liked the little bit of enemies to loves, which didn't last long because the chemistry and attraction set off from there.
I quite enjoyed seeing Mark and Asher together, they complemented each other really well despite their somewhat rough beginning.
Definitely looking forward to more from this writing duo!
This wasn't my first time listening to narration by Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan, but they were perfect picks for The Best Men. I devoured this audio in just about one day.

Sarina Bowen and Lauren Blakely combine their formidable talents to create a seamless opposites attract M/M love story. It was a joy for me to read.
There’s Asher, a posh professional soccer player turned photographer. He’s the quintessential rich, fun-loving single guy who’s hot and knows it. Then you have Mark, a Wall Street banker, math geek, and divorced single father. I absolutely loved Mark. His obsession with spreadsheets for every occasion is adorable. I also liked his quick wit and his willingness to take chances.
Mark hates the fact that he lusts after Asher because he thinks Asher is smug and out of his league. Asher is intrigued by him, but he fights his attraction to a man he thinks is straight. The way Mark’s bi-sexuality is handled is wonderful.
I enjoyed all the wedding preparations. It was fun to see Asher’s and Mark’s different personalities on display as the two best men help plan the perfect wedding for Mark’s sister and to watch their relationship grow the closer it gets to the wedding. Mark puts up a good fight, but he’s no match for Asher’s lethal charms. The forced proximity scenario works well here, providing plenty of opportunities for humor and steamy sexy times, with Mark and Asher exchanging flirty euphemisms and lightning fast banter. Their progression from opposites attracting to enemies-turned-friends-with-benefits to boyfriends is very entertaining.
I just found out that there’s a prequel novella, Super Hot Wingman, which is currently free, so I’m going to read that and get my Mark and Asher fix.

The Best Men was absolutely delightful! It is entertaining, funny, steamy, and all but devoid of unnecessary drama. If you need a fun, mostly light-hearted book that will leave you with a smile on your face, this is it!
I absolutely adored Mark, especially his spreadsheet obsession! I TOTALLY get it, I have spreadsheets to keep track of my spreadsheets! lol! Though I must say, I'll look at them a little differently after reading this story (iykyk). Mark is a planner. He's organized, reliable, and exceedingly responsible (though he definitely knows how to let loose when the situation calls for it ;) Asher's personality is basically the polar opposite of Mark's, and that initially creates a good deal of animosity (especially where Mark is concerned), but the differing personalities ultimately really compliment each other in this case.
I read the e-book, but can't wait to get my hands on the audiobook - Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan are two of my absolute favorites and I have no doubt this story will be even better with them narrating!

For all intents and purposes Mark Banks is a straight laced financier and divorced single dad completely devoted to his daughter. He also has an amazing relationship with his sister Hannah and an unwavering love for his parents. But when his sister announced she’d met a special someone and the relationship went from just met to wedding bells in the span of a few months right in front of his eyes, Mark somewhat lost his cool and made some really wrong moves on the brotherly chess board then agreed to do anything to make up for it.
Of course, Hannah will milk it up and he will have to travel to Miami with the other best man to help with the wedding arrangements, which means spending the best part of a week with the insufferable Asher St. James, the beau’s best friend. A former pro athlete turned photographer with an aggravating proclivity to perfection both physically and in every other aspect of his personality, at least in Mark’s eyes.
This story was romantic, sexy and super fun. Mark and Asher are the epitome of an opposites attract couple. They couldn’t be more different if they wanted to and that makes for a great banter and an even better love story. Breaking Mark down and bringing out his fun side is not an easy feat, but Asher is definitely the man for the job and the way these two are together makes for the best story.
I really liked both main characters and their backstories as well as the secondary characters. I truly enjoyed what the authors did with the story and the road for all of them to find their HEA.

This was an easy decent read. I was worried it wasn’t going to do it for me because all of Lauren Blakey’s books have been complete misses but I was happy to say this wasn’t bad. I know Sarina being attached helped a lot.
