This was a really enjoyable book overall, with a fantastic main character and a nice amount of intrigue, but everyone had too many names, and I had a really hard time keeping track of all the characters. The multiple names and titles were bad enough, but at least in audio format, a lot of the names were extremely similar. Maybe in print I could have kept track, but listening I was confused a decent amount of time. I wish I had tried reading it first, just to see if I could keep everyone straight that way.

This book wasn't really for me. There were a few moments that I did really enjoy but I found the story to be bogged down by all of the marriage arrangements, confusing names, and descriptions of outfits. I can understand why some people found the book cozy, too, but at the end of the day, I didn't find the plot very engaging. I think that I probably had the wrong expectations coming into it. I can definitely see how some would enjoy it.

Despite not much of anything happening it was strangely compelling and I couldn't put it down
Loved it! Somewhat cozy read. Feels like will be a great book to reread in future. Love all the huge number or characters constantly thrown at us the reader to simulate what the main character feels like being thrown into the royal court. Many small but beautifully delved into and expanded moments. Ending was a little quiet but I still think all together it works and I really enjoyed it

Can be a bit thick with the high fantasy in-world lingo. I wish the glossary had been a little more extensive. Overall a solid plot and surprising character depth given that the in-book spam of time is minimal.

This was a reread, and I loved it more the second time around. Definitely an all-time favorite book for me, lots of interesting feelings about politics and power, and such good people.
