A closed off cowboy, a girl married to her work without time to date and a mystery to solve. My favorite cowboy is a great tale of wounds being closed and priorities changing in life. I loved seeing Audrey and Caleb falling in love and all the family connections in this book. It was the first book I read in this series, but now I want to go back and read the first two to know how everything started. It was my first book by Donna, but will not be my last!

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

After reading Brice's story, I was eager to read Caleb's story, and this one didn't disappoint!

Caleb was a wonderful tortured hero! I loved how he protected Audrey, even from himself! I especially loved how he had to work through his issues with his mother, but couldn't do so without Audrey! Audrey was a great heroine as well! I loved how caring she was, even with everything besetting her and her career. Both characters were extremely realistic to me, and were easy to connect with as well!

I especially loved the suspense plot, and the twists and turns it took! The villain was a real surprise to me, I did not see it coming! I also loved the teases we got of Jase and Cooper...I can so see them getting their own series!

All things considered, this is a great read that I can highly recommend!

I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

It was a slow start at the beginning of the novel that I debated rather or not I should drop it but I thought I would give it some time for the story to develop and I'm so glad I did.

The characters were really likable and the relationship didn't seem force nor rushed. I enjoyed the bubbling romance between Audrey and Caleb, their chemistry is impeccable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a romance novel with lots of twists and turns.

I have such terrible bookzheimer's that I didn't realise this book was part of the Heart of Texas series until I started reading and remembered reading the other two books - derp!

Caleb has been the hold out of these Texas boys, and I knew it was going to take some kind of extraordinary woman to take him off the market.

Audrey got me from the start (though I don't understand her love of horses - they are the beasts of satan lol).

I loved being taken along with Caleb and Audrey as they fight their feelings for each other, and as they fight the person/s who have it out for her.

It was great to get more of Clayton/Abby and Brice/Naomi. I love how strong their familial bonds.

I wanted to slap both Caleb and Audrey with my kindle at times to get some sense into their heads, however I knew they would get their crap together in the end.

I enjoy Donna Grant's writing style. I always feel that I am in the book with the characters rather than an outsider looking in. She drew me into life on the ranch, and kind of made me want to get on a plane and go visit.

I look forward to what Ms Grant brings us next.

Copy kindly received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I put this one down and picked it back up again quite a few times. The chapters seem to drag on a bit, but at the same time, it's not like the writing style is horrible.

Neither are the characters horrible. I didn't mind Audrey or Caleb, and I certainly liked their family members and friends. Something about this just didn't sit as well as others with me. I couldn't really feel the connection between our main characters, and for the most part I was just really frustrated with them.

I like the idea of the book and the mystery part of it, but also there were things that left me just feeling it was meh.

This one is my favorite for this series so far. The characters were believable and I enjoyed the mystery plot running in the background.
This story stands alone, the previous books are about other characters so you'll soon catch up.
Horses are sick and Audrey who is a vet is trying to get to the bottom of it. Little does she know it's about her. Jealousy drives this story and the author wrapped it up well. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Audrey Martinez is a veterinarian that is so devoted to her work she has no time for men and has adopted a bit of a love them and leave them attitude, maybe it's a hangover from when her father walked out on her and her little sister Maddie after their mother's death. Someone has poisoned three horses at a friend's stables and she is desperately trying to save the horses.

Caleb Harper was deeply scarred when his mother walked out on him and his brother and sister when they were still small, he was affected more than the others (or maybe just in a different way) because he actually saw her leaving and begged her to stay. Now he never lets any woman close, he knows a million ways to let a woman go. When Caleb and his brother and brother-in-law find out about the poisoning they are the first to pitch in to try to catch the poisoner, but what is the motive?

Caleb and Audrey feel an instant attraction, but can they overcome their pasts and catch the poisoner?

I'll be honest, other than Donna Grant's writing there was nothing I liked about this novel, which is a pity because I like Donna Grant's other novels. I thought Audrey was severely lacking social skills, indeed so was Caleb, she needed her sister to point out basic human responses. She put her work above everything and had no friends other than clients or potential clients. Caleb was the sort of guy who sees a relationship hurdle and instead of acting immediately by, I don't know picking up the phone, he stews for five days, blames work pressures and doesn't want to use the telephone because its too impersonal! You just slept with the woman and then ghosted her for five days FFS.

The plot kind of fizzed out, mired in the quagmire of Caleb's indecision and Audrey's lack of self-worth, then got settled bish-bash-bosh by some circumstantial evidence and (of course) a recorded confession.

Overall, I found this cliche-ridden, turgid and the villain's motivations made no sense to me. A pity because I did enjoy the first book but revisiting my review of the second book it seems like I had the same complaints about the plot taking a back-seat to sex and angst in the second book.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

‘My Favorite Cowboy’ is about the youngest Harper brother Caleb. Caleb is a handsome cowboy who’s past made him into a ‘new-woman-every-day’ kind of man. Caleb doesn’t believe he is someone worthy of love, and he has made his peace with it. He loves working on his ranch, and he loves his family. What more does he need? So when Caleb meets Audrey, a veterinarian, for the first time he is shocked to find himself wanting to be with her all the time. Especially since Audrey seems to be in danger. But Audrey had her own problems, and she has never opened her heart to a guy. But after looking at the handsome cowboy she finds herself wanting everything with him.

I enjoyed the second book in this series, but this third book I loved. From the moment I started reading I just completely loved Caleb and Audrey. Audrey is this hardworking woman who made a great life for herself. She studied hard and worked hard to become the best. And she lives for her work. I really liked Audrey’s character right from the beginning. She is tough, and passionate about what she does. She was definitely easy to like. And Caleb… Handsome, hardworking and he would do anything for the people he loves. Yes, I definitely loved him too.

The romance in this book was great. A little predictable, yes. But also just butterflies in your stomach good. I loved how Caleb and Audrey struggled with their instant intense attraction to one another. They where just so good together. But they both had a lot of insecurities and issues to get through. It was definitely to read about these too.

The suspense in this book was also pretty good. It kept me hooked and wanting to keep on reading. Someone was hurting these horses, and Audrey was determined to find out who and what they where hurting these horses with. It definitely kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. Just as with the previous book, I found the suspense part of this book coming to a bit of an abrupt end.. But it sure was good.

‘My Favorite Cowboy’ was definitely a great read. I just loved it from the beginning till the end.

My Favorite Cowboy my Donna Grant had all the good things I love about a cowboy romance. This is the third book in her Hearts of Texas series but can be read as a standalone.

Audrey is the best equine vet around, she works hard and cares deeply for the horses she tends to. When a family friends horses mysteriously take ill she drops what she's doing to help. Turns out there's a lot more going on than just a few sick horses, someone is out to ruin Audrey's reputation and maybe even her life. Caleb is ex military turned cowboy. He finds true peace and solitude in the horses he trains. Caleb finds himself at the farm with Audrey just in time to help her care for the horses and also keep her safe. Both Audrey and Caleb are people who aren't looking for relationships, but they can't deny the instant connection between them.

The characters in the story were all great. Audrey is smart, independent and caring. Caleb is a strong charming cowboy. They both had a soft spot for animals in need and both focused on them instead of their own insecurities. I enjoyed how the were both alike in a lot of ways and complimented each other perfectly. I also really loved Audrey's sister and Caleb's siblings, it makes me want to go back and read the first two books in the series. The story line was well paced and believable, I just wish Caleb had maned up sooner and called or reached out to Audrey. However, I appreciated that she didn't automatically forgive him for shutting her out.

Overall, My favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant was a lovely cowboy romance with an interesting mystery and a bit of suspense. I look forward to reading more books by Grant in the future.

"Their eyes met and held. God, he wanted her. The kind of craving that wouldn't be satisfied until he had her. The type of need that intensified until it consumed him."

"No one - not one single person- had ever made her feel even a tenth of what Caleb did."

My favorite out of the first 3 books. Love the twists. Also I love the fact that Donna Grant uses the correct term magazine or mag instead of clip. FINALLY an author who knows somethung about guns! Lol
