This is one of those stories that's good, I liked it, it was a quick, fun read but it was just missing that special something for me.

I enjoyed the first half when there was an element of complication involved since Andie is at the academy being trained for someone else. I liked Andie and Fulton fighting their feelings and enjoyed that bit of conflict. I never fully got their connection even though a I liked them both as characters. They had some fun interactions. The second half was just okay and rather drawn out to me. I felt like this was a low heat kind of book. Which is totally okay, but since they were at a BDSM academy, I was just expecting a higher heat factor. It was still nice but had more of a slow burn feel to me.

Good writing and story, decent conflict and drama. It wrapped up nice and easy. I enjoyed it but could easily put it down and walk away. There was definitely a sweet, low heat, love story happening. Nice introduction to a new series. A good read if you're looking for something on the lighter side that’s not to taxing. So, good. :-)

My review cross-posted from Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2017/04/review-master-professor-by-tara-sue-me.html

When Andie Lincoln learns that her best friend-turned-boyfriend Terrence Knight – the hottest actor in Hollywood – is a Dominant, it awakens something in her she never before thought of. Andie has no experience with submission, but she’s eager to learn. Since Terrence has no time to teach her, he manages to get her a spot in the exclusive RACK Academy. Andie’s got a free pass to explore her sexuality so long as she doesn’t lose her virginity, and she’s both nervous and eager to delve into the world of BDSM. What she doesn’t plan for is her unexpected attraction to Fulton Matthews, her new professor. Fulton doesn’t just awaken her submissive side, he tempts her like no man ever has. And though the attraction might be mutual, a relationship between teacher and student would be forbidden even if Andie were free. So there’s no way they could act on it…right?

Master Professor is fast-paced, sexy, and fun. I enjoyed watching Andie come into her own as she embraced her submissive side and found her place at the RACK Academy. Andie is sweet, uncertain, and curious, and she’s got a core of strength that stands out as she goes toe-to-toe with Fulton. Her feelings for him throw her off her stride repeatedly, not just because he’s the first man she’s ever submitted to, but because of Terrence. I don’t condone cheating and it’s a hot-button issue for me in romance, but author Tara Sue Me established Andie and Terrence’s understanding from the start and handled this delicate topic in such a way that it didn’t bother me, even when Andie and Fulton were pulled into greyer areas.

I was cheering for Andie all through Master Professor, wanting her to find happiness and a Dom who loves and appreciates her as he should. Fulton is a great match for her. He’s both caring and commanding; definitely a Dom, but one who is a bit more relaxed. He struggles with wanting Andie, knowing he can’t have her and yet falling for her both in the classroom where they’re trainer and student, and outside of it, where they’re two people who simply click. He and Andie have an easy chemistry that shows on the page and made it impossible not to enjoy their story. The BDSM aspects of Master Professor are moderate, which suited the characters and the story. That doesn’t mean the story lacks heat – the sexual tension is fantastic and when it boils over it’s hot as hell.

Master Professor is the first book in the Lessons from the RACK series and while I finished it well-satisfied with Andie and Fulton’s story, I’m hungry for more of the RACK Academy. I cannot wait to see what Tara Sue Me has in store for the mysterious Master MacLure!

Just a few words to describe how oh-so toe-curling this book was. My-oh-my I devoured this book. 'Master Professor' intrigued me, I couldn't flip the pages fast enough. It lured me and kept me wanting more.

Terrence Knight is a Dominant, and wants his girlfriend, Andie to be trained as a submissive. So, he enrolls her in an academy that will teach her how to be just that. Terrence would teach her himself, but you see, he's a famous actor and doesn't have time due to his filming schedule. Andie loves Terrence and wants to be trained as a submissive not only because it would make Terrence happy, but also because she really wants to too.

Fulton Matthews is the director of incoming students and will be Andie's teacher. He doesn't know why she's there, he feels as though her only reason is to make Terrence happy. He doesn't believe she's there on her own accord, and that she isn't taking her stay at the academy seriously. Little does he know, the joke is on him.

At first, Andie and Fulton's relationship started off rocky, but as time went on they started to be comfortable with one another. As days go by and lessons are taught, Andie's wild side is slowly unleashed. She's a good student, but only because Master Fulton is a very good teacher. Their relationship is so damn hot you need endless amounts of water to put the fire out. Andie starts developing feelings for Fulton, but she doesn't know if it's because he's bringing out her submissive side; or if it's because she truly and deeply really likes him.

I couldn't get enough of Fulton, damn that man! He was such an alpha, but he was also charming and sweet and gahhhh I just loved him! Wouldn't mind calling him Sir a couple of times. *wink face*

I can't wait for the second book. I really need to know about certain things and certain characters.

I believe this is the first book I've read by this author. I have had her books been recommended to me many times, but I was hesitant because I often don't like most BDSM books, but this book was BDSM lite. There are only a few sexual scenes. Some were really hot. But when the consummated their relationship in the last 5-10% it was nothing to write home about, and just as vanilla as any other romance. And the one scene they did have that wasn't, was nothing special. Maybe I was let down because of my assumptions of what this book would be like. But towards the plot of the book, that was disappointing as well. Andie was an ok character. She had a tstl moment that was frustrating, but overall, she had a backbone. Fulton on the other hand was kind of a jerk, and I hated the way he pushed Andie away. I had some unanswered questions about how their relationship would work with Fulton as an instructor. I also wondered what happened in Andie's training and demonstrations when Fulton wasn't there. Or if Andie and Terrence's relationship, even as friends, was over. And what his real motivation was behind letting someone else train her. What Fulton's history was, or even Andie's. So now that I think about it there wasn't a lot of characters development IMO, and little plot.

Overall this was a letdown to me. Even when you take away my assumptions on what I thought the sexy times would be like, I found the plot lacking.

This review may contain spoilers, so fair warning, upon reading the review.

For a Dom, to see his submissive waiting for him like you are? It’s a heady feeling. You’re doing more than offering yourself. You’re putting yourself in a vulnerable position. Showing your trust to your Dom. Telling him without words that for whatever time you’re together, you are putting yourself in his care.

Master Professor is the first book in the duo series “Lessons From The Rack” and this is also my very FIRST Tara Sue Me novel and I am definitely impressed with this one here. I was really curious to see how this one would go for me.. This is an author that I have seen in the blogging world for almost a decade and I have been so curious to read her, and I am finally picking her up and I really had so much fun with this one here. What impressed me even on the first page was how well the BDSM culture is handled, especially with the hero I was really overjoyed at how well it all was situated. It does have a bit of a forbidden theme to this, but I actually really love this taboo as long as adults are involved. The gist of the story here is that our heroine, Andie Lincoln, is wanting to be in a relationship with an actor, who has also been her childhood friend but has revealed to her he is a dominant. She goes to a school “RACK Academy” to learn how to be a submissive. When our hero, who is one of the top professors at the BDSM training school, hears of the situation he is highly uncomfortable, but the more interactions he has with Andie, he realizes how right it is that she has come here to embrace her submissive nature. We see how Andie starts to learn what being a submissive means and embrace this part of her.

Kiss me. Kiss me like I’ve never been kissed and kiss me so I forget every kiss except yours.

We also see a fierce connection between Andie and Fulton. There is no actual cheating in this book, as during this time, she and Terrance had agreed to open relationships until her training is over. I won’t reveal how Andie and Fulton find their way to a HEA, but it’s a beautiful journey of discovery and connection. I truly think BDSM fans will get a kick out of this one, and how well BDSM is handled. I really love BDSM in a romance because of the honest communication and trust that is so developed and necessary. I found the romance to be so touching, and the emotional intimacy that is built was so well layered and the dynamics that we see between our pair here are balanced, and seeing the work through the challenges ahead was well worth the journey. Definitely eager to continue on with book 2 and explore more of this author’s work. This story captivated me from beginning to end and I am thrilled to delve into this author’s backlist!

My new goal in life is for you to know how I feel about you and what you mean to me with everything I do and say.” He pushed deeper until he was all the way inside her. “Whether I’m taking you slowly and sweetly or riding you hard for my own pleasure, you will always be my beacon of light and my heart’s home.

Master Professor is book 1 in the Lessons From the Rack series. This is an erotica series that takes place at a BDSM school. I've been wanting to try out a Tara Sue Me book for quite awhile now and I was glad I grabbed this one! I haven't read too many erotica books, mainly because some of the ones I've tried are just pure sex and no story. That was not the case in Master Professor, it was story driven with plenty of naughty bits mixed in.

Andie Lincoln is an everyday girl that winds up dating Terrence Knight, a famous actor. She finds out that Terrence is dominant and wants to learn how to be his submissive. He doesn't have enough time to teach her with his filming schedule so he pulls some strings and enrolls her in the RACK Academy. I was kind of iffy going into the story since Andie and Terrence are dating, yet the love interest is someone else. The author played it very well though and had Andie and Terrence agree that they can see other people while she's at the academy. They also promised that her virginity would remain intact, which it did. Fulton Matthews is one of the teachers at the school, and Andie manages to push all of his buttons. With each lesson, feelings start to form that neither wants to accept. Andie is also finding out more about herself than she thought possible. I thought Andie and Fulton suited one another very well but kept wondering how they would make it work while listening. And how Terrence would take the news if/when Andie told him.

Master Professor is a perfect book to start if you're new to the erotica or BDSM genre. The characters were engaging and there was a well thought out storyline that I had to appreciate. The naughty bits were scorching hot and balanced throughout the novel. If you're a fan of erotica or just want to try the genre out, I think you'd enjoy this book.

The Narrator:
This was my first audiobook narrated by Tatiana Sokolov and I thought she did a wonderful job. The characters were easy to distinguish between and their voices were expressive. I will for sure be checking out more of her narrations in the future.

It was ok. I'm not sure why the main characters got together at the end. they didn't seem to have much more chemistry that the guy she was with at the beginning. I wish they got to know each other better it was all kinda shallow.
