This is such an unusual story and one I hadn’t expected to enjoy as much as I did. About a boy who starts to hear inanimate objects speaking upon the death of his father.Original, quirky, and moving … its themes include death, mental health, parental love, first love, hoarding… and the magic of books. I’m intrigued to read more by this writer.

I could gush over this novel. Another stunner by Ozeki. Annabelle and Benny, the cheery Oh’s, will break your heart then put it back together again. Perfect for fans of the Goldfinch or Demon Copperhead.

out of my comfort zone for sure but was willing to give it a chance. i quite liked the first twenty or so pages and i really liked the writing style but the gratuitous descriptions of sex just weren't for me. i can't believe it's written by a female author because it had such male author energy. disappointed.
