WELL.

I've been wanting to read this for a while and when I saw that it was $1.99, I jumped on it.

Pros: Adele is hilarious, I love her. Shanti too!

Cons: Pete is a dick, and not the kind that I usually love? He's a bit of an indecisive asshole, and his push-and-pull tricks are so frustrating!!!! I wasn't completely sold on him by the end; you gotta give me more groveling than that, mate!

All in all, the story itself is entertaining from start to finish, but like 30% towards the end went by in a bit of rush, and completely off the rails bonkers (
Spoilersurprise baby??? a proposal??? wowzers where did that come from
), but I wasn't put out by it.

This is my first time reading Kylie Scott--would definitely read another of her works.

I really liked this book, it was refreshingly different.

I loved Adele, her stepmum Shanti, and her friend Hazel, they were all great female characters.

This is obviously a sexy romance, and Adele and Pete are very sensual people, so their sex scenes were A+.

The 15 year age gap did weird me out a little, so I liked to imagine in was just a decade — somehow that made it better.

The minor negatives were that, a lot Pete and Adele's bonding/talking takes place in flashbacks from seven or so years go, which is fine — but people change a lot over seven years and I would've liked to have seen them connect/talk more as adults in the present. Also the ending is quite domestic/nuclear family which I always find a bit *rolls eyes*, but that's very typical of the Romance genre, soo what can ya do?!

What I LOVED was the Australiana! This is honestly the first novel I've read that has been explicitly set in Australia! I loved the setting of Queensland (the sunshine coast I think it was?), the interstate road tripping, the gab at how overpriced Sydney is, the barbecuing, how they ate dinner out on the decking, the late night swims in the pool, the huntsman spiders, eating dinner at the local tavern/pub, the utes, the aussie TRADIES, the local tropical flora, the kookaburras, and the walks on the beach. Ah it was amazing to read because it was so realistic. I hope Kylie Scott writes more novels set in Australia. Please Kylie!!

“Happy?” he asked.
“Delirious. Thank you.”
A grunt.

This romance was very ehh to me like I love Kylie Scotts writing and her dialogue is hilarious. Yet these characters just seemed like they shouldn't be together.

Super witzig, realistisch und unterhaltsam.

I'll review later.

what i remember is, it was boring as hell.

It was funny, and I liked it. But the writing wasn’t for me at times.
