This was less brutal than the others, but still very said. The Masons were heroes, and good people, and I understand Stacy's need to be on camera as a coping mechanism. I just wish they didn't fuck up two children in the process, you know?

Love the Newsflesh series.

It was nice to go back to thebeginnings of the characters we knew so little about. Most of what we knew about the Masons was through George and Shauns eyes. Read here how they started their journalism career and why they are called Irwins.

Note well, there is an extract for another of Mira's books at the end of this ebook, so the actual book finishes at about 84%.

That said, for anyone who's a fan of the original newsflesh series, this is a deeper look at the Mason parents and their backstory and is one of the more heartbreaking of the series. It is definitely readable as a standalone, but I enjoyed the new depth it brought to my reading of the original trilogy. If you loved Feed, you'll love this.

As dark as this post-zombie apocalypse world is, I still like visiting it, at least in part because the characters are so competent and creative in finding ways to move forward.
