Cute, light book about an older man trying to figure out how to win his wife back. His niece unexpectedly shows up at his door step and of course helps provide the guidance he needs. I loved learning more about the meanings behind gemstones and the books was fun enough to keep me interested even though pretty much none of the adults acted like adults.

Sweet little book. Makes me think about my sense of self and fulfillment. Who am I?

An uplifting, sweet, and familial story. I didn't enjoy this book quite as much as The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper, but it was cute. For those who enjoy learning about crystals and their meanings, it may bring extra joy to you.

Perfect summer read. Benedict Stone’s wife has left him, and his teenage niece shows up at his door in the middle of the night. It’s a little predictable, but sweet how Gemma (niece) helps Benedict grow and let loose.

I wish I could do 3.5 stars. I liked her first book CURIOUS CHARMS OF ARTHUR PEPPER better. I did like this book. I'm interested to see how the Hallmark Movie adaptation compares to the novel.

I really enjoyed this book. Heartwarming but surprising and full of real life.

The last backlist book I had left from Patrick. All her stories are balance between heart wrenching and heart warming. This was one of the most realistic stories about infertility that I have read and she looks at the topic straight on as an absolutely central theme. Layers of family heartache and history are explored in this one with just a hint of, not magical realism per se, but a hint of the supernatural with the addition of the gemstone descriptions, very fun.
