This was a quick read that helps give another perspective on social media and the influencers that live and make a living on various platforms. I think it’s a good starting point to dive into what it means and looks like for people but it doesn’t flesh things out as much as id like it to.

I thought this would be a more critical analysis of how influencers have shaped our culture. People have turned themselves into a brand. Horrifying. But this book reads more like a set of loosely connected magazine editorials. I remember reading Glamour editorials when I was younger that were like “Jennifer walked in wearing a white tank and distressed denim looking (exaggerated adjective) and holding (most likely a latte). A bizarre format. This book is a lot like that. This could be a fun read if you’re a fan of the influencers presented (I liked reading about Mirnva but even she got a surface level treatment). Otherwise, swipe up for less!

Maybe it’s just because I live in utah (but I’m not from here) but reading narratives around Mormon mom influencers fascinated me. This was an easy read and good if you’re looking for something lighthearted
Wanted more drama and juice!!! But I did love the inside look at the influencer industry.
