There’s so much angst and pining in this one and I loved that. It’s similar to the first book where the couple fall for each other when they are young, but in this book Jameson and Penelope never dated as teens. Given that, I felt like one thing that was missing is exactly where and how did they fall in love with each other. From the way it’s written, it feels like an Instalove connection (a pet peeve of mine) when they are teenagers that somehow lasts for over a decade without any romantic ties between the two. Other than that the soap opera style plot was very engaging and I loved how devoted Jameson was to Penelope.

I think I liked this the most so far. It's full of miscommunication or lack of communication really lol. Penelope and Jameson met in their teens when her mom became the gf of one of the club members.  She's always been in love with him but he's never given her the attention because he didn't want that life for her. He didn't want to dim her light. She comes back years later but he doesn't fight for her, she ends up pregnant by someone else. But when she's put in danger, he steps up to save her. When they finally get their shit together, I did like their relationship. All the club drama was interesting and intense.

I am absolutely obsessed with this series. I'm genuinely triggered that the final book isn't on audiobook yet (as of today 9/21).

This story with Jameson & Penelope is beautifully written & there is so much angst, tension, drama, and secret / mutual pining!!! I am head over heels for this one.

Penelope's journey was a rough one. Growing up bouncing between Clubs while her mom tries find to a safe place for them both. Landing in with the Chaos Kings. Pen grows up with Jameson, and they have an instant teenage attraction but like they just keep passing each other emotionally. She thinks that Jameson is too good for her and he thinks the same about Pen.
As life goes on these two just keep missing each other. There are so many external factors that keep them apart and when they finally get together it's by force & farce.

Their marriage of convenience is to provide a protection stronger than a patch.
Their secrets finally tumble out in the dark of night and under the illusion of this fake relationship but it's real. It's all real.

I am so enthralled with this couple. The sacrifices that Jameson made in order to protect Penelope truly showcases his deep admiration & affection for this woman.

I jumped right in for this one, and I couldn't wait to start. From the beginning, you can see and feel that Jameson will do anything to protect Penelope. Penelope poor thing her life has been flipped upside down and she doesn't seem to know what's going on. How she doesn't see how jameson feels about her blows my mind. You can see and feel it in everything he says and does. And Jameson he can't see that she has been in love with since they were kids. The question is, will they be able to find their way together with everything going on around them.

I can't wait for the next one!!

Jameson, you are unhinged but I am here for it. My least favorite couple in the Stone Riders series but I ate it up cackling and still 4 stars. Couldn’t put it down.
