Huge fan of his past work, but sorry, this was just boring.

DNF’d it. My thought process throughout the 170 pages that I made it through was “maybe it will get better.” It didn’t.

Honestly, I like myself too much to force myself to finish this boring ass, confusing ass, mess. The characters were absolutely forgettable, the plot is nonexistent, and you’d think in a book that has the title be the name of one of the characters that character would be more relevant. She’s not.

I've read words which meant nothing to me in the end. The setup was great. I thought a story of a migrant woman struggle and entanglement in high crime activities was very urgent to the social climate we are living in. But as the story progresses, it doesn't seem like a story of a migrant woman.
The ending manages to bring some tension, but the book is too slow for it to have a big impact.

Like all Thomas Harris, this book is a challenge. It’s dark, it’s appalling, it’s amazing. Do not read it unless you’re read for gore on another level- this man KNOWS gore. I’m so serious.

A very different kind of story from the "Lecter" books. It revolves around recovering lost treasure in Miami. I though it was interesting, but the characters were not fully developed.
