Going to differ from the popular opinion. I couldn't get into this one either. The first one was great, but the other two really dragged on. This one is the final installment where they take on the supervillian who wants to be resurrected as a god while killing everyone else. Ben and friends go on a long journey in the ethereal plane with quite a few hiccups and a lot of people die.

Really fun trilogy. Solid writing and a great story with twists and turns and characters that had three dimensions.

I'm just not into this right now

I love Duncan Ralston books but I struggled with this one, the first two in the series I flew through, but I struggled through this one.

This was good, and I liked it. I do think it felt a little drawn out, and oddly enough like maybe it should be split into two completely separate stories. I know I'm not explaining it great, but I don't know how else to say it.

The concept is cool and the world-building is decent. The character growth is complicated...  The author is great at providing backstory for characters, and making his characters very interesting... But sometimes I felt like he added to those stories as afterthoughts, or to make something they were about to do seem more in-character. I also felt like he spent a lot of time building up "throw away" characters. So, yes... great characters, but sometimes their growth is a little clunky.

I would read something else by this author, but I am glad this series is over.

The last of the Ghostland Trilogy, this book wraps up the story with all the characters arcs ending nicely. Or does it?! An interesting book, though my favourite was definitely the first one as it had a faster pace.
