Was just kinda meh? I didn’t hate it, wasn’t excited by it either? Somehow wasn’t what I was expecting it to be either.  The action scenes moved so quickly it felt like whiplash and the rest of the book felt slow to me. I went like a week without picking it up. Like there was a lot to unpack with this story and it’s many characters and yet I still feel like something was missing. These characters are messy as hell. I think the lesson here is don’t travel with someone you just met, ya know, stranger danger.

•What did I think of this book? (Mult. Timeline POV)
This was a great summer read. Six people on a cursed island, everyone with a motive, an excuse to visit this shipwreck, and known cannibalism  even with people going crazy isn't actually a vacation make. But that's what their looking for a place to unplug, relax, and forget. But, even Reckless Girls can't stay calm for 2 weeks.. Maybe Karma has finally come, and they can reclaim what is theirs; but everything has a price...and not everyone plays fair. I would recommend this, especially as a vacation read. 😊

This is my first Rachel Hawkins, had zero expectations going in. The plot moved quickly, I liked the multiple POVs looking back. Interesting twists and I wasn’t mad at the ending.

It's a solid beach read or one for a lazy Sunday. Do not expect to be wowed by a twist in this one.  The story is about what you would expect - the characters are just interesting enough, the setting is beautiful and the pacing is at a clip that makes you feel like you should finish it. With that being said, it's a bit slow in the middle when the author attempts to build tension and mystery.

This book was really fun and I enjoyed it A LOT. However, the “thriller” aspect felt like an after thought tacked onto the end and I think I would have enjoyed it more without that portion.

The book really didn’t even get rolling until there was only like 40 pages left and everything happened SO QUICKLY. Nothing was fleshed out and it felt so disjointed. Like it was an entirely different book I’d just stumbled into.

First like 70% was 5 stars. The ending was like 1 star. So here we are at a 4.

I finished this book in 24 hours, only putting it down when I absolutely had to. Something about Rachel Hawkins’ writing made me keep writing. I loved the character development, however the format was tricky at first and I was confused about the flashbacks in the beginning. I loved this book, and have already recommended it to friends.
