This author's mind needs to be inspected because I'm both disturbed and in awe.

A solid collection of stories! Having read uzumaki and gyo so far, this one has been the creepiest for me. Bravo again Mr. Ito!
I always have a hard time reviewing story collections as a whole; a few stories I wish were longer but I thought in general the pacing was good and that they were all plenty suspenseful and unsettling.

I found this to be a more gripping, frightening and cohesive Ito anthology than the one I've read previously, Smashed. Some of the concepts and imagery he uses here are genuine nightmare fuel. There was only one story here that really didn't work for me, which is a higher success rate than Smashed. Junji Ito's mind is a bizarre place.
Graphic: Body horror, Child death, Death, Gore, Suicide, Torture, Blood, Death of parent, Murder, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Grief
I wouldn't generally describe these short stories as overly emotionally impactful, but Ito's trade is to get under the reader's skin and he is very good at it.
