One of my qpps recommended this book to me and it hit the mark for me. It's not a high fantasy world saving book but it's fun and cozy like the coffee shop it centers around. The characters are loveable save maybe like 2
they are meant to be. Seriously screw Fennus
. And yes, there is a romance but it's not the main focus and I feel like it is sweet. One of them isn't stated to be ace but honestly I headcanon them (I don't want to spoil who) as ace.  Ok I will
Tandri reads as ace. The way she reacts to Thimble's food just reads ace to me.
.  Also spoiler for the end
who the hells is Darius really? Like it's hinted that he's a time traveler or a god or who is this mystery gnome!?

This was the sweetest book that I've read in ages! I found myself smiling at little things in almost every chapter. If you need something cozy, relaxing and happy, this is your book.

If you want to annoy your DM by side tracking your party into starting a coffee shop using medievalish sounding technology, read this. If you don’t, you can probably skip this.

This had such rave reviews (and a long wait at the library) that maybe I was expecting too much going in? It was cute enough, and definitely had the "ahhhhh" factor SPOILER
with the stone bringing people/relationships together, not just good luck. It was set up so that I'm a little surprised I didn't guess it. As each new person coming in just seemed the perfect fit for both parties.
.

Anyone overly concerned with the lgbtqia+ classification ... it was pretty minor, nothing explicit (although there was proFanity, despite the cartoonish cover and other wholesomeness of the message).

I went with the audio - this was narrated by the author, which from previous experience can go both ways. The author certainly understands the text, but often aren't trained. Here I'm happy to say the author was great as the narrator, with perfect pronunciation, voices, etc.

I see this is the first in a series, but that following books (there is a prequel) not out yet. This wrapped up well, so while I can see further stories being told, there weren't cliffhangers. I'm not chomping at the bit, but would likely read more in this world.

A lovely story and a great delivery in the audiobook!

And I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of the food. It inspired me to do some baking myself.
