** Spoilers**

I didn't like the ending. Not because Amy didn't get punished, or because Nick stayed with her but because of the classic line!!
Every "good guy" says that line to the "evil guy".
It was so disappointing. A bad person or a psycho like Amy will not feel regret or remorse because she's evil. she thinks that's the way to be. She doesn't know anything else. That's exactely what makes her "evil" so it was so pointless.
It would have had more impact if he said he loved her, because we know he doesn't really.

But ultimately, it was a good read. It's the first time I read a suspens novel, and I liked it very much. I liked how they illustrated how people tend to believe appearances, and not care for the truth sometimes because it's more convinient.

I think I'd just rather watch the movie at this point.

Dark, twisted, vulgar, and completely psychotic. Thought about stopping halfway through, but I just had to know how it would end.

I can see how this book was causing a stir a few years ago, yet upon completion I was disappointed. I did like how I could not predict what would happen next. And I did enjoy the thrill and suspense this book has. What made it hard to love this book was that I really didn’t like either character, Amy and Nic, and they really were not easy to sympathize with. I was not a fan of the ending at all. What happened to getting justice for all that has been done?

Sometimes the people who are closest to us are also our worst enemies. I loved every second of Amy's plots and I hate her so very much.

Riveting story, but the characters were such awful people and I didn't enjoy the book.

This book was good. It was interesting to follow what happened to Amy, but when
it was revealed that she was alive and she planned it all... I guess I wasn't as surprised as I would have liked to have been.
When
Amy sees Nick on TV talking about how much he wishes she was home, I was very suprised when she fell for it. The whole point of her running away I thought initally was to put Nick in Jail and make him rot there... However, after Amy so easily folded at Nick's words, her charachter motivations completely changed for me, and I don't know if this was the author's intention or not. Rather than being this cunnly evil wife she became a despearate crazy woman vying for her husbands attention (in extremely dramatic ways).  BUT, that's notr to say I didn't enjoy that switch. I think that actually make the book more interesting, as, up until that point, it was quite predictable. Amy's return was not something I had expected
My personal favourite part was the ending when
Nick has no other choice but to stay with Amy. As a reader following Nick's journey, it was very interesting because he is someone the average reader can relate to. He seems like a normal guy, a bit of a douche (cheating, hitting etc...) but not one deserving of a crazy killer wife... Or does he?Either way, he's stuck with her and it was complex trying to decide whether or not I thorught the ending was just.
I didn't read this as fast as I thought I would. Ususally with thrillers I can't put them down, however I found lots of the book to be a bit boring and I often lost focus/interest with the plot. Especially with some police scenes with Nick, as ovbiously we see those all the time in the media and are often overplayed. The only other thing  I will say as to why this rating is relitiavely low, is simply because lots of the details surrounding Amy's dissapearance were just not realistic. (This element is much worse in the film) If you have read the book by the way and were wondering whether or not to read the book I would say watch it, but keep expectations low. I thought it was well done and I can't put my finger on why but it just wasn't amazing for me. Anyway, not my favourite but I'm glad I read it.

I loved the plot twists and the psychological aspects of this mystery novel.
