I'm finding this book also really hard to rate, because while I liked the plot, the writing style wasn't my favourite. It felt like it didn't flow compared to how I prefer things. I loved the characters, minus willow, and loved the plot, but I also feel after Willows POV came in, which I really disliked, it started to plateau and then decline. I'm not saying the ending is shit, but it is super fluffy and I don't feel like it really fit the book in my opinion. This book was incredibly sad and more about the characters grief and loss in life because most of it really interferes with their relationship. It was however an extremely realistic type of romance with jealousy, anger and cheeky moments.

I listened to the audio version that was dual narrated, I enjoyed the female narrator but wasn't impressed with the male narrator. The story was good and I liked Brody and Delilah. Delilah did annoy me in parts of the story.

I really enjoyed this book, and don’t know why I waited so long to read it. The chemistry between the two main characters, Brody and Delilah, was off the charts. And I liked how Delilah didn’t fall right into Brody’s arms when he was pursuing her, and we got to enjoy the witty banter between the two as the sexual chemistry continued to build. Loved, loved Brody, who while arrogant and charming, also had such a caring and sweet way about him with the people he loved - and loyalty to a fault. I also liked Delilah, who grew up in and worked in such a male-dominated field, but truly held her own. What kept this from being a 5-star book for me was the reintroduction of Willow into Brody’s life, and the authors even writing sections from her point of view. I thought it took away from the romantic dynamic that I was greatly enjoying between Brody and Delilah, and just felt it was unnecessary. Really good book, though, and definitely recommended.

So, first, this isn't a football novel. This is a novel where the hero happens to play football. I like my sports romances to have the sports play an integral part of the story, but this didn't have that.

Second, he's beyond cocky. Like, if the author hadn't had the Marlene storyline running at the same time as the story between the hero and heroine, I probably would have given up on it because the part of his character that she sees isn't attractive at all. He sexually harasses her. Repeatedly. I mean, I guess I should have known what to expect since blatant stiffy was the cover shot, but that part of his personality was not remotely attractive.

And third, this book needed an editor because some of the sentences literally made no sense. At all. I read them multiple times and while I think I figured out what the author was trying to say, that's not a good sign. I won't be continuing with this series.

I loved Brody Easton!! My goodness does he have a dirty mouth in the best way possible. Keeland does a great job of using sensitivity when touching on hard to think about topics (aka cant say the spoliers you know) Delilah was good balance for Brody not allowing him to run all over him just because he is the hot QB.

Sportsromance at its best. No idea why I waited so long to pick it up but I now understand why this book always pops up as a classic in the genre. It is not overly complicated or angsty, and yet it makes for a marvelous romance.

This was OK. It was ridiculous in parts, and couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be serious or goofy. If I could I would’ve given it 2.5 stars.

Brody Easton was last year's Super Bowl MVP, Quarterback for the New York Steel. This season, he's all anyone can talk about. In fact, he's going to be Delilah's first locker room interview as a sports reporter. What she doesn't expect is for him to try to win her over for a date.

Over-the-top, disrespectful, super sexual harrassing football mega star meets timid new girl. Somehow he exposes himself in front of her and not a single person in the locker room steps up on her behalf. Scumbags, players and reporters alike. Brody's background story was almost interesting but when a love triangle popped up and introduced a third character mid-book, it lost me all over again. The spice isn't even that good in this one. This book was a big old dud.
