Why is it that the best part of romance novels is the first 1/3 - 1/2 of the book? After that I lose interest. I guess I am in it for the chase, after that boring.
I was absolutely loving this book until the ex was brought in, especially as a POV, like what was the need. Especially for her to just basically disappear. I loved Delilah and her strong attitude, I adored Brody but I was wish we heard more of his feelings when it was his POV. The ex having a POV really ruined it for me because I was so happy and rooting for Delilah and Brody and then to have to sit and read about how his ex still loves him and wants him back wasn’t great. I did love Brodys relationship with Marlene though it was adorable and I loved the epilogue and how he excited he was.

This book was another letdown for me.
The Baller has so much potential, and I was really getting into the story and enjoying the incredible chemistry, the hilarious banter, and the sexy times between the female lead (Delilah) and the male lead (Brody).
So, I couldn't get for the life of me why the author has to ruin it by inserting the POV of another woman (Willow) from Brody's past who happens to be in love with him still. I mean, it's fine to have a love triangle in the story I guess, but I didn't need to hear about this other woman's thoughts too and that she has "gone to bed and woken up thinking of him every day for the last four years".
After I read that line from Willow's POV, I knew that I couldn't continue any longer. I had to stop right there and then.
I realized that my to-be-read list is piling up, and there are so many other books out there waiting to be picked up that are probably a lot less frustrating, so I don't think I should waste more time feeling angered by this book.
The couple of hours I spent reading the first half of this story (which I really wish I can take back) along with the few minutes it took to write this review (which I really wouldn't call a review because it sounded more like a rant) should be more than enough effort.

Woah, this is a GREAT read. The Baller by Vi Keeland is a heart-melting and highly addicting read. I read it in one sitting as I simply could not tear my eyes off the pages for a minute. Once you meet Brody Easton, you will swoon for life! Not only is he cocky and arrogant, but he is devilishly sexy AND has a sense of humor. While many readers may get put off by a cocky attitude, this is not the case with Brody Easton. He is completely charming in even though we know (as well as he) that he is the SHIT. Ohh la, la.
Throughout the story I felt the strongest connection to Brody. Usually when I read a romance I find myself connecting more with the heroine, but with this one, I felt more connected to Brody than anyone else. I find this to be quite refreshing as I enjoyed his male point of view and the way he flirted around with everything in his life- including the lovely Delilah. I am really not sure exactly what it is that pulled me to Brody so much, maybe the fact that underneath his cockiness is a sweet and charming man who needs love like the rest of us, or simply because he is hilarious! But either way, he is the character that I found most endearing and relatable. I also liked Delilah, the heroine of the story. She fits in well in the “man’s world of sports” and certainly a strong character in this book. She, like the rest of us, fall fairly easily for Brody’s charms but she doesn’t give in so quickly- which is also refreshing. I like her feisty attitude and the way she handles all of the situations she finds herself in.
In addition to this being a hot and sexy romance (yes, you get some spicy bedroom scenes that will ultimately make you blush) there is also some complexity to the book. You see, Brody has only loved one woman in his life and her name is Willow. Sadly, when they were together Willow turned to hard drugs which ultimately drove a wedge in their relationship and it ended. Years later, Willow shows back up. But this is not necessarily in a way that readers would first assume. There really is no scheming and bitchiness to try and win Brody’s heart, but there is a past that each need to get closure on before they are fully able to move on. This is difficult not only for Brody but for Delilah too. So readers will see some drama- it’s not all happiness and rainbows.
Overall, this is a fantastic romance read that incorporates some wonderful things like football and humor. Readers will get a kick out of the things that come out of Brody’s mouth (he can be quite a pig) and find themselves laughing out loud at his antics. Not only this, readers will feel fully satisfied once they finish the story as it does have an HEA and quite a sweet one at that. If you haven’t picked this one up yet then you really should! It’s a great read!!!

Loved the book right till the ending that is bullshit, such a shame

This story felt very unique and I really loved that about it. We have Delilah who is a sportscaster and she meets Brody, a famous quarterback, under interesting circumstances. Brody is intrigued by Delilah and tries to pursue her. But he soon realizes that he doesn’t stand a chance with her unless he is willing to commit to a relationship. You can feel his inner turmoil over this but he eventually decides to give a relationship a try.
Brody has been hurt in the past and his pain has kept him away from trying to find love. Delilah lost someone she loved dearly and it may have left her a little bit more damaged than she thought. The two are able to enjoy their new relationship and things progress well until we have someone from Brody’s past coming back into the picture. I normally don’t like OW drama but this kinda made it exciting. I did get mad at Brody a few times over it but I think through it all he really did prove that he was committed to his relationship with Delilah.
