There was so much happening in this book that it's hard to pinpoint my feelings. I love Steele and Emberly and all their friends. I'm so intrigued on where this story is heading, especially with that ending!

Oooh! This was good! I was lucky to get an Advanced Reading Copy from Julie and I already need book 3 immediately. I think I enjoyed this one even more than the first! Julie Hall has a way of pulling the rug out from out of you when you don’t expect it! I always appreciate it when the author includes a glossary in the back and, in this case, an Angelic Classification too. The few illustrations were also an awesome surprise.

Yeah, it’s safe to say I’m honestly obsessed with these books. I don’t think I’ve read an angel themed book I loved so much since hush hush and honestly this second book gave me SO MANY EMOTIONS.

- the character development in this book was immense. I really saw Emberly come into her own and she was great. I really liked the introduction to Thorne and I think his character will be interesting. I can’t quite put my finger on whether or not I like him or not.
- Steel, as always, is the perfect amount of brooding alpha male that we all know and love. I really enjoyed his chapters.

This second book really did move the plot forward and I’m itching for book three already!

The story continue where the previous book ended and I was excited to say that in this book there are some chapter written in Steel POV. Not because Ember's POV was boring or anything but it was nice to saw from Steel's POV especially regarding how he really feels towards Ember since the girl couldn't really tell what Steel feels.

I really like this continuation from the first book. It had everything pretty much the same as the first one; great world building, well written, the pacing was also great and a few new characters. I really like Tinkle and was hoping he played more roles in this book instead his character were just there in the corner of the story without giving any contribution after telling everything he knew about Ember.

I was glad that Ember and Steel relationship started to form something in this book compare to the previous book. At first, I thought there will be some sort of love triangle but I was relieved that it didn't turned out to be like that. Because honestly, this story didn't need that love triangle drama. There are a lot of other cool things going on without that drama being added to the mix.

Overall, it was great and I enjoyed it as much as I had in the first book. Ember was more powerful than I expected and I am curious to see how she will handle all of it. I couldn't believe I had to wait another four months to know what happened next after that cliffhanger!

Forging Darkness picks up right where Stealing Embers leaves off with only Emberly knowing if Steel was alive or not. but when she goes to help him find Silver she gets taken by Thorne, who was an intriguing character for me,. Will Emberly be able to escape Thorne to get back to Steel

4.8 stars! The overarching theme to this book seems to center around how we support each other and the things we would do to keep the ones we love safe. As more and more secrets are revealed, and Emberly and her friends seek to help Steele find Silver, sacrifices are made that end up revealing even more about Emberly and her heritage and past. There’s a good amount of action, mixed with a healthy dose of exposition to continue building the world. Some new characters are introduced that have a big impact on their lives, and new questions arise as a result. As always, Emberly holds onto her snarky, take no crap, attitude, which is one of the things that endears her to the reader. But she’s also opening herself up to her new life and her new friends, which is very scary and intimidating, and definitely an unknown factor for her. The story is engrossing, and the world building is excellent, and the ending keeps you wanting more.
