Backman has done it again- written a beautiful book that is full of joy and grief and love and humanity. The characters are so real that you feel like you should be friends with them. This book is filled with so much heart; I can’t wait to read it again.

This novel will stay with me for a long, long time. “My Friends” is so beautifully written; if I underlined every sentence that made me smile, broke my heart, made me laugh out loud, and made me cry so much that my tears blurred the pages, I’d have a book that looked like it had been dragged through the world.

This is one of the best books I’ve listened to. I think listening to it makes a world of difference because it truly feels like the story is being told directly to you. I’m not sure if I would’ve liked reading it as much as at times it felt repetitive. For me the thing that makes this story so good was the friendship throughout the book from the friends that Ted talks about to Ted and Louisa’s friendship and the character development throughout. Although it’s sad at times and complex I think the hard topics were discussed and touched on appropriately. Lots of emotions and feelings about also the humor was perfectly timed always. Love love love this book and would recommend the audiobook to all!
