Beautiful retelling, an intriguing greek myth with lyrical prose to draw you through enabling you to sink into the character fully.

I enjoyed Medusa. I found its love story compelling and engaging with the fact that you get to read about two people falling in love with their words all the while never seeing each other.

However, midway through I was starting to crave a different perspective. The way Medusa tells her story is captivating and poetic, but already previously knowing the story of Medusa and Perseus, made me wonder what Perseus' perspectives were.

I do highly recommend this book, it's an enchanting love story with an ending that could turn your heart to stone.

A great twist on the myth of Medusa and Perseus, in which Medusa conceals her identity from Perseus upon his arrival on her island and they grow closer through talking to each other. Usually I’m not a fan of the star-crossed lover trope, but I enjoyed it here.

While this book deals with an age-old story, it brings it into modern relevance by touching on topics like female standards of beauty and victim blaming. Medusa struggles with her appearance defining her identity when she wishes to be the sole person to write her own story. This book sends a powerful message about accepting every facet of the person you have become, especially after it seems like trauma has changed you.
